Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Siya Goyal's Brother Questions Lawyer's Role, Says Family Never Appointed Him

Fresh developments have emerged in the Ketan Agarwal murder case after Siya Goyal's brother claimed that advocate Aashutosh Srivastava was never appointed by the family and may have obtained Siya's signature through deceit. Police continue questioning family members, examining forensic evidence, and appealing for witnesses to come forward.

In a significant development in the investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal, Siya Goyal's brother has claimed that advocate Aashutosh Srivastava is not the legal representative of their family and may have obtained Siya's signature through deceit. The statement has raised fresh questions about the lawyer's role in the high-profile case, which continues to remain under intense police scrutiny.

Speaking exclusively to India Today, Sahil, the brother of the accused Siya Goyal, stated that neither his sister nor any member of the family had appointed Aashutosh Srivastava to represent them before the court. He asserted that the lawyer had never been authorized by the family and alleged that Siya's signature may have been obtained through deceptive means.

When asked about reports regarding a planned vacation to Bali, Sahil confirmed that the family had intended to travel but the trip was cancelled because Ketan Agarwal's passport went missing. According to the investigation, the passport had allegedly been hidden by 20-year-old Siya Goyal to prevent the foreign trip from taking place.

Meanwhile, Ketan Agarwal's father, Vishal Agarwal, made an emotional appeal to the people of Pune during a candlelight march organized on Saturday to seek justice for his son. Addressing residents gathered at Belmondo Society on the outskirts of Pune, he urged individuals who were present at Lohagad Fort on June 18, the day Ketan allegedly died after being pushed off a cliff by Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.

Vishal Agarwal said several people had witnessed the incident but had not yet approached the police. He revealed that some witnesses had contacted the family through messages claiming they were present at the fort during the incident. He appealed to them to record their statements with investigators, assuring them that they would not face any difficulty for assisting the investigation.

The appeal came as police intensified questioning of Siya Goyal and her family members. On Saturday, investigators interrogated her parents, Praveen Goyal and Pooja Goyal, for several hours. Her brother Sahil also reportedly underwent nearly ten hours of questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

During questioning, Siya Goyal's mother rejected allegations that she and her husband had pressured their daughter into marrying Ketan Agarwal. She reportedly told investigators that neither parent had forced Siya to proceed with the marriage.

The investigation continues on multiple fronts. Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Tompe stated that investigators found evidence showing Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary exchanged telephone calls before Ketan Agarwal's alleged murder. Police have also seized Chetan Chaudhary's mobile phone and plan to send it for forensic examination to gather additional evidence.

As investigators continue collecting witness statements, conducting forensic analysis, and questioning those connected to the case, the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal remains under intensive investigation. The latest claims regarding legal representation, the questioning of family members, and the ongoing forensic examination have added new dimensions to a case that has drawn widespread public attention while authorities continue efforts to establish the complete sequence of events.
